What is a HOPE Party?
HOPE Parties are low key gatherings where you and a few of your friends can get together in a safe and comfortable environment, usually someone’s home, to talk about safer sex practices and HIV/STIs.
Why have a HOPE Party?
According to the CDC, there are approximately 19 million new STI infections each year and over half of these infections happen to 15-24 year olds. Also, HIV and sexually transmitted infections are becoming more common throughout African-American communities like Flint and Genesee County.
